Aftermath (OFFLINE)

"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts"

- William Shakespear, As You Like It

Ironically what woke Charles up was the sudden silence that reigned now that the Crewpod had come to a rest. His eyes came into focus as he looked around. Moving his head gave him a headache, but he ignored it.

I have a job to do.

He released his seat restraints and fumbled his way to Maggie who was having trouble with hers.

"Hey, you okay?"

Maggie looked up and gave him a quick grin. "Hey Chucky, yeah, I'm fine. Just can't get this seat belt off. I think it's broken."

Charles pulled his knife from his belt and cut the straps. He helped Maggie out of her seat and moved on to check on the rest of the team. Kyle Peterson had managed to extradite himself with no problem and was helping Kevin Johnson out. The Archeologist and Linguist seemed no worse for wear. Charles moved on. Maggie was with Tony, checking Patty's head. The Team Anthropologist had a nasty cut on her scalp and the hair on her left side was matted with blood.

Charles called Tony over to the side. "Get everyone outside and tend to their injuries. When you're done, get a campfire going, the civvies can handle that. I'm going to need you to check the gear in the equipment bay, see what's salvageable. We're going to need the Boarhogs especially."

Tony nodded, seeing what Charles was getting at, "Andy and Jeff?"

Charles nodded, "If we made it, maybe they did too."

"Did you see where they landed?"

Charles shook his head and called Maggie, who looked up from tending to Patty's wound, "Yes sir?"

"Maggie, help Tony get everyone out of here, and then take those binocs. I have a mission for you."

Charles turned back to Tony who was looking around with a quizzical look on his face.

"What's wrong?"

Tony looked back, "Where's Garrison?"

"He's with Tim."

Tony grunted, "Figures."

"Yeah. You have a job to do, I'll take care of him."

Tony started to say something, but thought better of it and left Charles staring at the door in the front of the Crewpod where Tim was kept. As the ranking command member of the team, it was his responsibility to tend to the safety of the entire team, even the ones no one liked. As Tony and Maggie helped their charges out of the ruined Crewpod, Charles made his way to the front compartment. He pounded on the door with his fist and shouted, "Garrison! Can you hear me in there? Open up!"

After a few seconds, Charles was about to pound on the door again when suddenly it flew open. Charles was greeted by the sight of a very elated Richard Garrison, who immediately embraced Charles in an awkward hug. Charles was too stunned to respond. Garrison released him and held him at arms length.

"Tim made it!" he blurted out. "We're gonna be OK!"
